Who are we?

Our Mission

The Newcastle Bangladeshi Association (NBA) is a charitable organization that has worked for the last 40 years in Newcastle upon Tyne. The NBA promotes the benefit of the inhabitants of Newcastle upon Tyne and in particular people without distinction of sex, political, religious, or other opinions, by associating together the said inhabitants and local authorities, voluntary and other organizations in a joint effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation and leisure-time occupation with the objective of improving the condition of life.

The NBA has continued investing funds in developing Community hubs. We have already invested a considerable amount of funds in providing better facilities and empowerment for all the community, including deprived and vulnerable peoples, sports, education, health, religious and cultural activities.

Our newly built mosque accommodates thousands of people every week and has delivered all religious activities.

The NBA has created function room facilities with capacities greater than 500.  The community can enjoy these facilities, especially for weddings and other big or small gatherings.

Our outdoor activities include Eid in the park twice a year, a football and cricket tournament, and many others.

We deliver an annual Victory Day/Independence Day celebration and Boishakhi (Bengali new year) celebrations.

We, the NBA, have raised funds for people in need. Recently we raised funds for Bangladesh and Pakistan floods disasters.

Our vision is to keep the community together with a smile on the face and provide modern time facilities to deliver projects for all.
